Kairos Worship

1/15/12  New Series/Study:  Galatians Chapter One

Announcements

  • It is hard to get to know other couples when you are trying to watch your children while holding a conversation. That is why we thought that it would be a good idea to create a weekly opportunity for parents to gather before worship so we can enjoy each other’s company while our children enjoy childcare. We envision this to be a time when we can have fellowship, conversation based study, and the opportunity to pray for one another. We hope you will join us at 9:15 starting on January 22nd for some grown-up time. Please contact Lori Delange for more information: loridelange@hotmail.com
  • Central Night Shelter Opportunities. Please sign up to volunteer at the Central Night Shelter this winter. Kairos is responsible for “staffing” the shelter with 6-8 people on the following dates: Thursday January 26th, Thursday Feb 2nd, and Friday March 9th. Contact Neal Foushee for information and/or to sign up nealfoushee@gmail.com
  • Volunteer in 2012.  Make a New Year’s Resolution that will make a differennce to your community of faith – sign up to volunteer on one of our teams, or offer to use your gifts/passions/skills at Kairos.  You have been blessed by others at our church – now it may be your turn to be a blessing to others.  Contact Beth@KairosAtlanta.org to become a volunteer, to offer your gifts/passions/skills, or to learn more.
  • New Membership Opportunity.  The next membership class will be held on Saturday, February 11th from 9am-noon.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about the vision and values of Kairos, and to consider a commitment to “encourage one another daily to follow in the way of Jesus” through this community.  Contact Thomas for information and/or to sign up:  thomas@kairosatlanta.org
  • Kairos PODCAST! Check out the sidebar on the website to get a podcast of Kairos sermons. Thanks to Sean Adorno (who is now living in Charleston!) for initiating and providing this service.
  • To stay in the loop subscribe to the Website (www.KairosAtlanta.org), join our Facebook page (Kairos Church Atlanta), and follow us on Twitter (@KairosAtlanta). And use the website to get the word out about your projects, events, and endeavors.

News You Should Know

Dear Kairos Friends:

I must say that I never expected that my introduction to the community of Kairos would be quite so dramatic; but life often takes unexpected turns, as mine did on December 22 when I was in a head-on automobile collision. I understand that word spread quickly through the Kairos community and that I have been well and frequently prayed for. I have experienced the power of your prayers and cannot imagine getting through this without a community of pray-ers behind me. I have also experienced your “extravagant generosity” in cards, emails, offers of transport and food (lots of really good food!). Paul’s opening words to the church at Philippi come to my mind when I think of you at Kairos: Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart (Phil 1:3-5, MSG).  I look forward to being back among you soon, where we will continue to “encourage one another daily to follow in the way of Jesus.”

With great thanksgiving for you,

Camille Josey
